First Speakers for 2024 National Young Leaders Day Announced

UPDATED 9/11/23:

Nearly half a million Australian students have had an experience of the National Young Leaders Day which they will remember for a lifetime. This is a rare occasion for students to be in the same room as their heros and role models, to see them as real people, and to step forward into their own amazing journey as a young leader.

Halogen Australia has released the ‘first group’ of speakers who will inspire students at the 2024 events across Australia (with more to be annouced later). This event is Australia’s largest gathering of young leaders and is an annual event on the calendar of thousands of schools. It provides a unique opportunity for students to gather at world-class event venues to hear some of Australia’s most influential leaders share insights from their own leadership journey.

The first 2024 speakers announced are:

His Excellency the Governor General: His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley has been the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia since 2019. (Speaking at Melbourne event)

Anastasia Woolmer: Twice crowned the ‘Australian Memory Champion’ and well known from the ‘Champions’ Tribe on the special ‘Champions v Contenders’ season of Survivor.  (Speaking at Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney)

Paul Gallen: Rugby League superstar, NRL Premiership Captain, and winning State of Origin Captain with the NSW Blues. (Speaking at both Sydney events)

Bryson Klein: Multiple Australian Ninja Warrior grand finalist, and part of the ‘USA Versus The World’ team where he won first place.  (Speaking at Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney)

The Hon Peter Malinauskas MP: Premier of South Australia. He has previously served as Minister for Health, Mental Health, Police, Correctional Services, Emergency Services and Road Safety. (Speaking at Adelaide event)

Jane Bunn: A highly accomplished meteorologist and a household name across Victoria as the 7 Network weather presenter. (Speaking at Melbourne event)

Lachie Smart: At just 18 years of age he created history when he became the youngest person to fly solo around the world in a single engine aircraft. (Speaking at Brisbane event)

Eva Amores & Matt Cosgrove: Co-authors of the ‘Worst Week Ever’ book series which has been published in over 30 countries and languages. (Speaking at Brisbane event and Sydney Primary event.)

Scott Stuart: Popular author whose books are on best-seller lists worldwide and have also been adapted for the stage and screen. (Speaking at Adelaide event)

Gavin Aung Than: Graphic novelist and New York Times bestselling cartoonist. (Speaking at Perth event)

Ben Polson: Australian’s first Ninja Warrior Champion, with a powerful story of overcoming adversity through both sport and music. (Speaking at Brisbane Event)
