Winterfold Primary School is leading the way in healthy habits, transforming their canteen with nutritious food.
Canteen manager, Pip Slaughter, said that students played a huge role in shaping the food on offer. “Twice a year we have a competition where the students come up with their own recipe ideas which they then vote on, and the winning meal is put on the canteen menu for two terms.”
In addition to these kinds of competitions, much of the food used is grown by students in the school vegetable garden.
