Ignatius Park College Cook a Meal That’s a Big Deal

On Wednesday 4th August, a group of Year 12 boys from Ignatius Park College cooked a very important meal. The students volunteered to cook and serve breakfast for the homeless at the Townsville Drop In Centre.

The Townsville Drop In Centre is a day centre for people who are homeless or vulnerable and at risk of homelessness or are socially isolated to come and meet with others and be supported and valued as members of our community. The centre provides a free breakfast, of which the students were involved in.

The students said “this is a great way to start the morning and live our Touchstones.” The school touchstones are: Inclusive CommunityLiberating EducationJustice and Solidarity and Gospel Spirituality.
