Miandetta Primary School students participated in Footy Colours Day which takes place in September each year with students invited to wear their favourite team’s colours. The event is part of a nation-wide fundraising effort to supports kids who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Students took photos in their classes and participated in lunchtime events on a designated day to finish Term 3 to support the fundraiser. Organisers at Fight Cancer Foundation say about the event, “Your Footy Colours Day event can take any shape or form you like – we love seeing how creative our participants get!”
Students were unable to participate in some of the usual competitions due to regulations this year, but the Fight Cancer Foundation website provides many resources and ideas about how students can organise their own “footy-coloured” event.
