Fifteen WA Schools Prepare Waste Wise Projects

Fifteen schools in Western Australia have shared in a government grant of $39,000.00 to complete projects which students will use to reduce landfill. The announcement coincided with the 50th annual World Earth Day.

Schools from both suburban and regional areas will share in the funding with a range of projects announced. Worm farms, compost bins and garden beds were common themes across many projects.

“Waste Wise Schools teaches our next generation about the importance of waste avoidance, recycling and sustainability.” Said Environment Minister Stephen Dawson.
