Representing their schools, Kelmscott Senior High School and Kinross College, three hard-working student leaders have made their mark on a renowned international academic competition. These students took on a unique syllabus in addition to their regular school learning to prepare for Yale University’s World Scholar’s Cup. Originating in 2007, this competition brings thousands of students from across the globe each year to compete and celebrate learning across a diversity of subject matter. Despite two team members, Eknoor and Vanessa, of the Western Australian team being in the junior age group, they competed against more than 1,350 senior school participants, aged 15 to 18 years. Some of the achievements of these remarkable leaders include:
- Team gold medals in literature, media, art, music, social studies, and history.
- Ranked 51 in the Team Gold Medal Scholars’ Bowl.
- Individual silver medals in debating.
- Silver medals for Young Senior Scholars.
- Eknoor Kaur awarded a gold medal in social studies.
- Yizhen Pu earned a gold medal in collaborative writing, a silver medal in science.
Well done to these student leaders for their dedication and work ethic to enter into such a competitive event.
