Record-Breaking Athletics on the National Stage

It’s been all across the news about remarkable Australian high school students such as Gout Gout breaking national and international records at the most recent All-Schools Athletics Championship in Brisbane. These students have put in hours of tireless efforts to represent their school on the national stage, showing spectacular talent and leadership.

It takes self-discipline and dedicated training to compete at the highest level. Some of the results achieved at this event competed with adult Olympic times and records. The hot competition didn’t just start at the event, it’s a narrow road to find oneself at this event. After competing at a district, regional, and state level, only two athletes per age per event are selected from each state to be representative athletes. Embodied by each athlete, effective time management and discipline is a key trait of an effective leader. Students train consistently for these events despite academic and extracurricular demands. These athletes have not only made their school communities proud, but their states, and our nation. Commendations and congratulations go out to each student who trained and competed.

Significantly, this event also featured an important inclusive sports event, showcasing boccia, pickleball, and seated volleyball as a learning experience for all athletes.
