Ulverstone Secondary College Students Finalists in CSIRO BHP Awards

Three students from Ulverstone Secondary College have been finalists in the CSIRO BHP Awards for 2020 by engineering a prototype power generator run by water.

Thomas, Mitchell and Mason created the idea themselves after searching for similar concepts online without finding any.

“It is designed to produce clean, sustainable energy and reduce carbon emissions.”

The boys were three of several students from across Australia who were finalists in what is described as, “the most prestigious science and engineering awards” for students.
