10-Year-Old Advocate Proves You’re Never Too Young to Make a Difference
Hannah Danesfaleh, a primary school student from Western Australia, has just won the Australian Alliance for Animals Young Political Advocacy Award — and she’s only ten years old.
Since the age of 5, Hannah has been volunteering with Free the Hounds, campaigning to end greyhound racing. Her advocacy spans school visits, library talks, community markets, and even meetings with government ministers.
At just age 9, she wrote and published her own children’s book, Georgia the Grey Comes Home to Stay, telling the story of her rescued greyhound Georgia’s journey from racing dog to family pet. The book raises funds for greyhound rescue organisations and has been read to kids in classrooms across the country. She has also received an RSPCA Animal Welfare Award for her efforts.
Hannah’s advice to other young leaders?
“Find something you truly care about and use your creativity to inspire change. You are never too young to change the world.”
