White Ribbon Day at Brighton Secondary

Friday 17th November was White Ribbon Day. This day calls on men to make women’s safety a men’s issue. The day encourages people to challenge the status quo, learn more or make a commitment to creating change.

Students at Brighton Secondary School addressed the issue as a school; with leaders encouraging their peers to stand up and speak out to stop family violence.

In adddition to the conversations and the learning, students wrote pledges for standing up and speaking out against domestic violence. These pledges were writen on plain white T-shirts, to be worn by staff in future years so students can see their pledges visibly as a reminder of the commitment.
