October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the student leaders at Sylvania High School have set out to make an impact over the entire month.
Leaders from the Student Representative Council have been sharing mental health tips each day at assembly. Instead of a one-off event, their hope is to have a meaningful impact spread over a longer period.
Their tips encourage everyone to think about mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. “This opportunity is to help others understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourage help seeking behaviours when needed” said a team representative.
