Moorditj Students Impress with Giant Cultural Puppets

An eight foot booyi (tutle), a ten foot noorn (snake), multiple koolbardi (magpies), bidit (ants) and djidjit (fish) recently danced into Meeip Park in Perth.

The spectacle was part of the local Kambarang Festival. The incredible puppets were crafted by students from Moorditj Noongar Community College, who were joined by drama students from Woodbridge Primary School.

The giant puppets (pictured above and below) were the showpiece of the parade, which celebrated First Nations art, culture and tradition.
