Somerville House Students Write ‘Gratitude Graffiti’
Students at Somerville House recently celebrated Positive Wellbring Day, which also coincided with World Mental Health Week. The theme for this year was ‘Gratitude and Positive Attitude’.
Students from across the school united together in a frenzy of creativity. The concept, called ‘Gratitude Graffiti’, involved the students drawing and writing positive messages and images in chalk.
A quote by Scott Adams was used to guide the activity “𝘙𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘯𝘥.” Instead of working individually on the creative task, the older student mentors worked with their younger student buddies to explore together the concept of ‘Gratitude and Positive Attitide’.
