Hair Ribbons with Meaning at St Catherine’s

At St Catherine’s School Sydney, Yr 11 students were excited to start the year by each receiving a special symbol of leadership.

The simple ‘red hair ribbon’ (as pictured) has a much greater purpose at St Catherine’s. It is a significant symbol of the role that senior students play in the school.

“The ribbons can only be worn by Years 11 and 12, and wearing them demonstrates their readiness to take on the challenges of their senior years” says the school. Wearing these ribbons serves as a reminder to the student wearing it, and also the younger students observing them.
