Bendigo East Secondary Student Solves Loneliness with Plants

Bendigo East Secondary College (Bendigo Tech School) student Lilly has won first place in the Young Change Agents Design Challenge by coming up with a solution to help with issues caused by social isolation due to Covid-19.

“Lilly designed a plant subscription box service to connect people virtually and build a community of people growing plants in their home.” Said Education and Training Victoria.

“Users are encouraged to connect with their local, virtual gardening groups. An app gives customers the guidance they need and keeps them learning and motivated. ”

“…secondary schools across Victoria have been busy designing solutions to local pandemic related problems, such as social isolation and stress.

Lilly worked with a team and professional mentor to bring the idea together before presenting the “solution” to a judging panel.
