Manea Senior College Students Solve Everyday Problem in Global Goals Challenge

Manea Senior College students have won the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAAWA) Global Goals Challenge by creating a recipe which solves two problems at one – excess seaweed on beaches and global plastic consumption.

Public Education in Western Australia said, “Asked to find a viable solution to real-world problems, the team took two problems – the local problem of excess seaweed on our South West beaches, and the global problem of plastic pollution – and devised one ingenious solution.”

This solution included a recipe which transforms seaweed into a flexible, thin, durable and biodegradable plastic.
