Albany Secondary Education Support Centre Students Launch Recycling Enterprise

Albany Secondary Education Support Centre students have capitalised on a new program by the Western Australian State Government to start an enterprise that can fund initiatives at their school.

The “Containers for Change” program launched earlier this month, allowing West Australians to receive 10¢ for every eligible container they provide for recycling. Students have been busily collecting and sorting their local communities recycling since the launch.

“It’s been a fantastic learning experience for everyone involved,” said teacher Jake Butler, “The business started as a small school-based enterprise, however, has gradually turned into something much bigger.”
