Torrensville Primary School Students Become Sustainability Superheroes

Students from Torrensville Primary School are leading the way to sustainability for their peers and community by donning “Sustainability Superhero” capes. Any student can participate simply by wearing a cape and getting involved with one of several environmental initiatives.

“Sustainability to me means that we make sure that the future is going to be better than what it is right now,” said one student who participates. The capes which say “little hands do big work” are available for students every lunchtime to get involved with the school garden or rubbish collection.

One teacher described the excitement around seeing the students now taking their projects and knowledge home and working with their parents and contacting local councils about the importance of sustainability.
