Forbes and Parkes High School Students Compete for White Ribbon Cup

Forbes High School and Parkes High School students have organised a multi-layered event to raise awareness of and provide education on domestic violence. The day included rugby and league tag matches followed by evening events called ‘Boys Night In’ and ‘Girls Night Out’ respectively.

The day coincided with White Ribbon Day organised by the White Ribbon Foundation which is dedicated to ending violence against women. Forbes High School Principal Safija Bristina said, “The day is about positivity, raising awareness about positive relationships and empowering our young people to be leaders in our society and change the way we live.”

Forbes High School boys won the rugby match, while Parkes High School girls won the tag but White Ribbon Ambassador from Forbes said, “It’s not about playing a game of rugby league or league tag, but showing what positive relationships should be.”
