NSW Student Leaders to Inform Government on Drought

Students living in drought-affected areas will have the opportunity to take the lead in discussions about their personal experiences. The “UNICEF NSW Youth Drought Summit” invites 14-24 year olds to gather and share their ideas, which will ultimately result in a report submitted to the NSW Government to guide policymaking.

The Summit comes after only 0.7% of the state was categorised as “recovering from” or “not affected” by drought in June this year. “We’re really keen to listen to young people,” said one organiser, “it will be a call to action for the NSW government by setting out the agenda that young people have.”

Applications for the Summit will close on Friday, 30 August. Find more information HERE.
