Leaders Seek Guidance from Mentor teachers

Student leaders at Chisholm Catholic College are each paired with a mentor teacher to support them in their leadership role.  The school, based in Perth Western Australia, recently hosted a ‘leaders and mentors’ breakfast for the students and teachers to have their first mentoring conversations for 2019.

Whilst the leaders have teachers who help them oversee various committees, their specific mentor teacher meets with the leader at least once each term to offer additional advice, personal guidance and wisdom.

The recent breakfast provided a casual opportunity for students to communicate their goals to their mentor teacher, and discuss the likely challenges of the year ahead. Additional similar gatherings will take place throughout 2019.
