Hope and Help for Farmers

Students at Grace Lutheran Primary School recently created a ‘Hope and Help for Farmers’ campaign. Students from the school, located in the Brisbane suburb of Clontarf, knew that many families in the outback were suffering hardship and wanted to help.

Students in the Student Representative Council promoted the campaign in their classes, with each class distributing letters to fill with gold coins for this project. Together, the students raised $310 for the farmers.

This coincided with the school fun run which was also ‘farm themed’. The fun run had hay bales and other farm oriented obstacles.

Kathy Stock, Deputy Principal of Pastoral Care, said that what pleased her most was “the energy and enthusiasm and pride students showed in completing a gold coin letter and that altogether as a school we could contribute so much.”

The funds were passed on to farmers as part of the broader campaign being organised by school based charity ‘SchoolAid’. For more information on the campaign CLICK HERE.
