National Young Leaders Day Starts Strong

Halogen Australia commenced a new series of the annual ‘National Young Leaders Day’ today.

The first event in the series was the day for secondary school students in Sydney, and it was held in the new International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour. Students had the opportunity to hear from well known leaders, with additional time for asking questions and participating in leadership discussion.

Speakers included The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, Premier of NSW, former AFL superstar and Australia of the Year Adam Goodes, and recently retired NSW Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione. Travelling to Sydney especially for the event was John Coutis, who is a global leadership speaker and appeared to be the crowd favourite, with long lines of students seeking to meet him during the lunch break. John has no lower half of his body and shared his compelling story with the students.

A special presentation was also made by Anthony Matis from CPA Australia, who are the sponsors of the annual ATLAS Award. Students from Moriah College were awarded for their outstanding achievement with a team leadership project this year.

The National Young Leaders Day will be held between now and March 2018 for both primary and secondary students in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
