Ipswich State High School Students Use Online Survey to Create Tuck Shop Menu

Students from Ipswich State High School have used an online survey to gather data from their peers on what food they would like to purchase in-line with new health and nutrition guidelines.

The “Super Refueller Cafe” is run alongside student volunteers who assist in preparing and serving the food available at the tuck shop. Principal Simon Riley said, “Finding out from the kids what they enjoy eating helps our tuckshop to plan healthy food choices that we know the students will eat.”

The menu now includes a range of salads, fruit and yoghurt cups and hot meals and the school now has consecutive Healthy Menu awards from the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops (QAST) Tuckshop Awards.
