Ormeau State School Student Leaders Organise Water Drive for Neighbour Schools

Ormeau State School student leaders have organised a “water drive” collecting bottled water for donation to schools currently experiencing drought conditions across the Granite Belt.

Student Representative Council members ran a water drop-off station at their school “stop-and-drop” zone so that parents and community members could drop off water. The school stated, “The Stanthorpe water supply is heading towards Day Zero within the next few months. As the water levels go down, so has the morale of the students at the schools in the area.”

Through the drive students were able to collect 3400 litres of water, including a pallet of bottles donated from a nearby Woolworths.
