Primary Student Leader Goes Plastic Fashion Designer

Primary student Harry Robinson has started a business creating and selling sunglasses made from recycled materials.

The idea was born after Harry began asking questions because of his learning about recycling at school. Harry explained, “There’s so much plastic washed up and it’s sad. I feel happy we are using this trash and turning it into something good. My teacher has asked us to make a pink pair for her.”

Together with his dad and little brother they have designed and now sell sunglasses with all but the lens made from single-use plastic bottles. They funded the project by asking for $20,000 on Kickstarter and finished with $61,700 raised.
