Tewantin State School students have worked together to create care packages containing stationery and personal gifts for children in East Timor. Local businesses including the Tewantin Noosa Community Bank and Rotary Club of Noosa are sponsoring the project.
Tewantin Principal Rob Jennings explained, “[It’s] part of the Tewantin State School culture now and our student leaders have been actively involved with the project and getting the care parcels together.” Bank branch manager Linda Oliver stated that last year more than 3000 kids were present when similar gifts were handed out.
The students will now wait excitedly to receive a video and photos of the boxes being open when they are delivered in East Timor.
