Students Invent a Festival of Science

Students at Ocean Road Primary School, south of Perth Western Australia, held their very own science festival on 14th September.

Senior students worked in pairs or small groups to research, plan and conduct a scientific investigation of their choice. Students were all required to present a poster including what their investigation was, their hypothesis and an explanation of the science at work behind their investigation.

The students from kindergarten to year 5 then attended the festival. As some year six students commented, one of the highlights was “seeing the excitement on the faces of our younger students as they observed the experiments being conducted and listened to the scientific explanations.”
