Get Your Free Book for ‘Reading Hour’

‘Reading Hour’ encourages all Australians to pick up a book and read for one hour on Thursday 20th September 2018.

At the bottom of this article you will see how to claim a free book, so that you can be part of it too.

“Most vital human functions are accompanied by pleasure, and reading is no exception. I’m proud and delighted to be an Australian Reading Hour Ambassador for 2018, and to use the opportunity to gently remind the adult community that young people deserve that pleasure every day. Says Morris Gleitzman, well known author among young readers.

“They also need it, because no other activity will better equip young people to embrace their futures in a sometimes dark and uncertain world with optimism, resolve and creativity. Our stories have saved us in the past, and in the minds of young readers they can again.”

The Reading Hour website has been set up to give event ideas, provide resources, and to officially register as part of the nation-wide initiative.
